English as a Learned Language Tutor

Bennington College invites applications for an English as a Learned Language Tutor. 

Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Writing Initiatives, this position will support students who are non-native and/or multilingual speakers and writers of English and will involve up to seven hours a week of individual tutorial sessions with undergraduate students. This position may also include training in ELL for the undergraduate Peer Writing and Research Tutors. The Tutor will coordinate with the Director of Undergraduate Writing Initiatives to provide support for these students, including during new and international student orientation.  This is a part-time, hourly position during the 2018-19 academic year.

Candidates need to have experience working in English language education for speakers of other languages and be interested in teaching in a culturally-responsive environment working with linguistically and culturally diverse students. Bachelor's degree required. TESOL certification is preferable.
