Director of the Post-Baccalaureate Program

Bennington College Part-time

Bennington College seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as the director of its Post-Baccalaureate Program, one of the oldest and highly regarded programs of its kind in the country. Since 1980 we have provided motivated college graduates the opportunity to strengthen their medical and dental school qualifications by an immersive, inquiry-based science education. Students become well-versed in the practice of science through seminar-style courses, project work, and extensive exposure to the primary literature.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the program, including admissions, matriculation, advising and support structures, and working with students during the medical application process. The director will work with science faculty and administration to develop a strategic plan that will shape the direction, content, and aims of the program and lead efforts to develop marketing and recruitment strategies designed to expand the pool of student applicants. The position also includes responsibility for advising Bennington undergraduate students interested in careers in medicine and allied health fields.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and have 3-5 years of experience in advising, recruitment, counseling, or a related field, preferably in higher education as well as a familiarity with health professions. This is a half-time position and requires outstanding organization and communication skills, as well as interest in maintaining an engaging presence of the program in various social media.
