Alumni Relations Coordinator

Bennington College seeks a dynamic Alumni Relations Coordinator to join a fast-paced, collaborative, and growing advancement and alumni relations team.  The Coordinator will serve as a key member of the alumni relations team in the Office of Institutional Advancement as we seek to deepen meaningful engagement with and expand support from Bennington alumni, laying the groundwork for a fundraising campaign that will pivot the institution toward its second century as a trailblazer in higher education.

Reporting to the Director of Regional Engagement Programs, the Coordinator will be responsible for managing and implementing the logistics of College-sponsored and alumni-driven events; help to develop and carry out a successful communications strategy with alumni across platforms and social media; provide administrative support to the program; and assist with other department projects as needed.

Candidates should possess: excellent organizational, written communication and interpersonal skills with customer service orientation; an ability to listen and engage a wide range of alumni; a deep understanding of and experience with social media tools and communities; an ability to prioritize work under deadlines and pressure; a desire to work in a collaborative environment; an appreciation of and eagerness to work with a dynamic and energetic alumni community. Strong facility and proficiency with Google Apps environment, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, online tools and social media required. Experience with html; Raiser’s Edge, EverTrue, or other relational databases preferred. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years related experience required. Some regional travel and occasional evening and weekend work is required for alumni events staffing.
