Bennington College seeks an organized, detail-oriented self starter to provide administrative support for a vibrant group of faculty in the literature, social science, and language disciplines. The Program Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations for the academic office and provides administrative support to the respective faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities include handling all administrative needs for the disciplines, managing budgets and purchasing, as well as organizing curricular and special events hosted by the faculty. The Coordinator will interact with constituents across the College and build relationships with a range of individuals.

The program coordinator is a vital part of the successful functioning of the administrative office; the ability to problem-solve and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously is essential. Candidates must possess a positive attitude toward providing excellence in service and a willingness to assist other disciplines/areas of the College. The position requires demonstrated administrative experience; preference for candidates who have prior experience supporting multiple constituencies. The position requires excellent communication/interpersonal skills, proficient computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail and Google docs) as well as the ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional administrative experience is required. The position also requires the successful completion and passing of a background check.
