Program Coordinator in Music

Bennington College seeks an organized and detail-oriented self starter as the program coordinator to provide support for a vibrant group of faculty in the Music discipline. The coordinator acts as an integral part of the Music discipline’s collaborative learning process by assisting faculty and students in the many aspects of their work.

The program coordinator manages the day-to-day operations for the academic office and provides administrative support to the Music faculty, staff, and students. The coordinator handles all administrative responsibilities, including preparing correspondence, organizing trips, scheduling class spaces, and preparing course materials, as well as assisting with curricular activities, budgets, purchasing, and coordinating special events hosted by the faculty. The coordinator will interact and collaborate with constituents across the College and must be able to build relationships with a range of individuals. The coordinator also supports other disciplines in searches, events, and projects as they arise.  The program coordinator reports to the Director for Budget and Administration.

Candidates must have the ability to problem-solve and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. A positive can-do attitude to support the needs of faculty is a must, as is the willingness to support other disciplines when needed. Excellent judgement and communication/interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and handle confidential information are imperative. The successful candidate must possess strong computer proficiency (including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail and Google docs, and internet search techniques). The position requires relevant administrative experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
